The Success of Katie Holmes

Succeeding as an actor or actress in Hollywood is nearly impossible. It takes the perfect combination of talent, determination, and a whole lot of luck to land even the smallest of roles. However, that doesn’t mean that success never happens. One example of a success story is Katie Holmes, largely known for her role in Dawson’s Creek. Here’s a bit of her story.

Early Success

Holmes found success early in her career on the television series Dawson’s Creek where she played Joey Potter. David Guillod, her manager at the time and a man her who a large part in her success, has a story about her callback audition for the show. Her audition conflicted with the opening night of one of her high school plays. The casting directors were appalled, but Guillod stood his ground and got her audition rescheduled. Managers and agents who can negotiate effectively are a must in Hollywood.

Recent Success

In 2017, Holmes played a supporting role in Logan Lucky, a heist comedy film where she played Bobbie Jo Chapman, the title character’s ex-wife. She starred alongside other big names such as Channing Tatum and Adam Driver. Since then, she has starred in a few other movies, television shows, and shorts, some of which have been received poorly. However, her past projects have been well-received, and she has shown that she has the talent to give a great performance.

Holmes is the embodiment of following your Hollywood dreams. When she was young, she used to dream about marrying Tom Cruise, and when she few up, she did. Granted, they’re divorced now, but they still have a civil relationship as they raise their child, Suri. If you’re out there still trying to find your Hollywood success, find yourself a good agent like Holmes had, stay determined, and take as many auditions as you can. There’s no guarantee, but you don’t know until you try.
